The Copperbelt Tailings Projects started in 2005 with a resource of on-surface copper and cobalt waste material, with a view to building or acquiring the necessary processing capacity to clean up the waste material, thereby benefitting the urban communities in Zambia in which they reside, and to provide key raw materials for the global transition towards cleaner energy provision.

Following a series of transactions in 2020, Uchi Mining into a joint venture with AIM-listed Jubilee Metals Group Plc and has welcomed the operational synergies brought to the tailings projects by Jubilee’s nearby Zambian footprint. Horizon continues to work closely with Jubilee and the partnership is targeting first production in 2024.
